Everyone suffers it, everyone is them.
I've talked about bullying on my blog before and I am always traumatized by the effects and the actual ongoing in this world about suicide rates hitting a new high due to bullying.
Now I have to confess that I used to be a bully. A type of bully you call cyberbullying. I admit to slamming classmates on this very blog years ago and if you really want to go and dig it up, don't worry that you've acted too slow because I have not remove it and I probably would never. I am responsible for my previous actions as a mindless bitch who is bitter and uses the internet in a morally incorrect way to get back at people.
And because of how I thought I got away with it, I continued the behaviour. People soon found these posts to use against me and as such, the tables were turned. I became a victim of my own medicine. It all happened when I was entering my teens and so I never look back at those or mention those before on my blog.
Being cyberbullied made me understand the hurt I had inflicted on others and how cruel the internet can be used as a weapon to bring someone down without having to actually face them. It was immoral. Really. And people don't understand that because everyone is doing it anyway. The social networking sites became extremely useful tools to get back at someone. You can create a fake Twitter account to slam about another or simply post on Tumblr and share it on Facebook.
Having the feeling of being in charge of someone's emotion makes another feel stronger about them. That sense of control over another becomes a habit for bullies. They like the feeling of being superior. They like being Charlie, manipulating his "angels", when his "angels" cannot see or feel him around.
In recent years, bullying has become a major issue amongst teenagers. Teen suicides due to bullying brought about major attention from the media. Other issues like cutting, depression, eating disorder were churned out from teenagers all over the globe as effects of bullying on them.
Demi Lovato has been through of being bullied so bad by her classmates that she fell into depression and developed eating disorder that lasted for years and till this date, still sticks around to haunt her every now and then. And she is just one of the more well-known celebrities that had made her nightmares public only in the recent years.
These bullying never ends. I logged in to my formspring this morning feeling bored. I posted on my twitter and tumblr as I realised I have not answered questions in quite sometime from anyone. Going to back to check an hour ago, these were the questions I got.
And note that these messages were posted anonymously on my formspring. I was pretty angry when I saw this. I am not a smoker and I am straight. I was wrongly accused of things I am not.My point is, these bullies do these things to provoke the victim into feeling worse about themselves. I refused to let them get me down. So I deleted these questions. But not everybody has that mentality and self-confidence to believe in themselves so much to ignore hecklers' taunts. And not everybody is as strong to continue life without heeding such comments from all over the place. So I am asking each and everyone of you who has read this post to head down to sign this petition. Give ‘Bully’ a PG-13 instead of an R ratingThis is a petition to have this movie, entitled "Bully", repeal its rating from R to PG13. Bullying starts at any age, for me it was when I was even younger than 13 and knew absolutely nothing about bullying. For more details, head to the website to learn about every details. Or you can watch the video below to understand the objectives of this petition. Bullying is an silent issue all teenagers in our generation faces. It had ruin lives and cause major damages in a person. Yet it is often ignored by older generation as something insignificant as compared to what they have. They often forget that with a dysfunctional generation behind them, that offer a dysfunctional future ahead of them. Bullying has proven to haunt and hurt almost every person you've come across in your life and I believe that it is time to make a stand. Sign the petition and share the news about this movie that we can all relate to. You never know how much hope you can give and how many lives you can save. Give ‘Bully’ a PG-13 instead of an R rating Labels: bullying, meaningful cause |
