Okay, my course, from your knowledge, is Chinese Media and Communication. It is, simply put, Mass Communication bilingual styled. I learn design, photography, writing, video editing, media law, oh and Photoshop and stuff. It's fun really. And very interesting. Also there is no test that students have in Secondary schools. Exams are also just at the end of the semester, at least currently for me. So the current workload comes from projects and assignments. And there's A LOT, even though I pretty much rock any sort of design based projects. The teacher is VERY different from secondary school teachers. Cause they only meet us four hours a week and sometimes even in class of 50 in a huge room. So it's no surprise they don't remember your name or don't even remember your existence in the class. Aka, no feelings of attachment as compared to secondary school teachers where we can be in the same class for up to four years. Mainly cause we only have about half a year together, aka one semester. I'm get to learn from a lot of people from the business previously. Most of the lecturers contributed to the current working media mainstream before, so, not bragging but I'm learning firsthand from the pros. Poly life, other than having to wear home clothes to school, waking up later, eating WAY better food than Secondary school/fastfood in the campus, is still hardwork. Yes, the teachers are looser and they don't actually care if you do your work or not, but you still have to put in the effort for the grades because even though you are now entitled to plan your own work with plenty of days from the deadline, the teacher expect quality work from you. And by quality, it means work that you can actually submit to the people in the business. So a horned set of skills is still required. People in CMC are very often mistaken as all China people but we actually have more Singaporeans than China students. And we even have a Malay student studying in my batch right now. I won't lie, having a little bit of familiarity does help, and also polytechnic students are appearance-biased. So it doesn't really help that I have a UK10 and a 158cm demeanor. But then again, I am really special. >:) Oh yes, it does get intimidating that so many girls walking about the campus is stick-thin and all, so if you're like me, a little more special, keep true to yo fucking self. However, if you're one of those stick-thin figure who refuses to admit that you are and that you think you are fat and all, fuck off my blog cause I don't need your fucking negativity in this space. This is a site for people who believes that they are special and amazing in their own skin. Being in polytechnics has its perks but it's not as stressless as people often say. So if you ever consider coming into polytechnic or to CMC, work your butt off for a GPA of 4.0. People achieve that, don't doubt yourself. Labels: ask me anything, poly |
