The Wedding Dress exhibition
Posted Monday, October 08, 2012 // 11:18 am
On rare occasions I have photos of myself uploaded on the
blog but I can’t explain the details and images I’ve witnessed without some
visual aids. So bear with the probable large amount of scrolling.
The Wedding Dress exhibition wasn’t as satisfying as I thought it would be. I expected a truckload of dresses and what they had was limited showcase of wedding dresses from each era. Perhaps just two, three or maybe four per decade. And you can’t judge an era’s wedding taste through three dresses really. It was all a bit too generalized.
The shoes scares me though. The design isn't fit for feet. The exhibition should have a sub-name called the “Evolution of Feminism throughout History through Showcase of Wedding Dresses". I mean look at these things! Not only they are disgustingly straight and shapeless, they are tiny too. Only fitted for binded feet.
Early 1900s
I think these are 1940s?
These should be the early Modern era
This is simply Gwen Stefani's
I should stop with the shoes and show more god damn dresses. I didn't take much photos, I only took those that I think is beautiful and I would probably wear something like that in the future.
That train. And silk is always pretty
I just like the simplicity of this. It's very elegant
Don't have to guess which dress I'm featuring, I would wear both if I can. The lace is so pretty
Nuff said, Philip Treacy's a genius
This made me scream a little. Excuse me as my heart melt
After we exit the Wedding Dress exhibition, we head over to the Kuo Bao Kun one, just next door. He really does a lot for the theatre scene in Singapore. Respect. And they showcase all the programme booklet from every play/musical he has put up. There is A LOT, I would say. Me and my sister hung out outside the exhibitions cause we were too lazy to move and go home. And we became complete monsters. The security guard was shooting dead glare and judgmental looks. He should get used to teens being a mess.
My sister commented how I look like I am being hit by a truck
A horse's a horse, of course of course
This is the only decent shoot from the two of us, the rest are too grotesque to be shown to the public
The overall experience was pleasant. The exhibitions were free to students, delightful news, I might add. The exhibitions allow photo taking, just switch off your flash. I'm a greedy bitch so I expected more showcases than they have but I have to admit all that was there were pretty gorgeous. Okay I'll signed off with this photo. Excuse the bra strap.
