Let's get crafty
I spent the last few days doing nothing... And the worst part is that I just realised it now. Oh my god, I spent the last few days practically rotting at home. I would turn on my laptop to watch cooking videos and I wouldn't even learn them. I just watch them because I really like looking at how food are made. I'm not even sorry about it. Sometimes, when I visit Breadtalk, I would instantly head to the bakers preparing bread just to see them dip the bread in the floss or sift icing on the baked breads. I can't explain this obsession of mine but it is obviously not healthy for me since I would eventually crave for them. And those that I crave for would usually be creamy pasta or overly buttery desserts. That is what I have been doing for the past week guys. Even when there are guests over for CNY dinner, I would still be coping in my room with such videos on and watching attentively as they pour ganache on their cakes. It gives me such rush. I have been sketching too though. I went back to drawing because I feel exceptionally good when I am giving life to a piece of paper, literally. I am not even halfway done so I won't be showing anything yet. Not in the short run. But I have been getting crafty throughout the first week of this holiday. I finally touched my studs, played with some DIY and am crafting studded denim shorts from an old jeans that does not flatter. But that is not done yet, so I'm not showing it either. Now let's talk about the Oscar shall we? I am really surprised when Ang Lee won Best Director because as much as I won't like it, I just assume they would give the award to Spielberg. But I am pleasantly surprise with the result, mainly because he is Asian. He is the pride of Asia, definitely. But the hush hush about the Life of Pi scandal is a little too much. The authorities should at least allow them to say something about it. Some credit should be offered to the VFX company, I mean, they lost the entire company as we speak. Anyway, Jennifer Lawrence was charming as ever during the event. She really just seem like a normal human being. To an extent that she even fell when she gone onstage. That's just adorable. And boy is her gown insanely gorgeous. Best speech of the day goes to Daniel Day-Lewis. And worst host for the Oscar goes to Seth Macfarlane. Admit it, Seth's hosting skills can bring him up to at most the Golden Globes and not the Academy Awards. And also, Daniel Day-Lewis' speech made you laugh with ease as compared to Seth's edgy, borderline-offensive jokes. I was predicting that Argo would win Best Picture though I secretly wanted Beast of the Southern Wild to win the title. But at least it was not Silver Lining Playbook. I really didn't like that. And the last time I didn't like a film so much was for The Social Network. And I liked The Social Network more than Silver Lining Playbook. At least The Social Network had decent, though confusing writing. Meryl Streep was the biggest highlight of the show. Labels: i'm an artist yes, Oscar |
