You can say that I'm nerdy chic, though I might punch you
I spent a good amount of time trying to revamp my Tumblr yesterday. I had been particularly plain and messy for some time. So much so that I barely visited the actual site because it frustrates me to wait for the unlimited scrolling to finish loading. Thank goodness that is rid off now.

I was contemplating on what to set as the background for the longest time as I was editing yesterday. I never really thought about what my identifier was and I don't want people to hop onto my blog and think that what is going was in my mind all the time was Sherlock, Sherlock, Sherlock. Because I am still the comedy girl at heart, I am still constantly worshipping Saturday Night Live and Friends. Along with Tom Hooper movies. And people like Meryl Streep and Hillary Clinton.

So to decide, I turned my clock back to when I was a kid and what actually plowed through the characteristics or objects I still retain after all these years. All I came up with was my habit of twirling my hair and my short-sightedness. Then it hit me how glasses played the biggest part of me growing up.

Yes, the stereotypes for people who wear glasses are either geeks or hipster now and I am positively none of them. Even if I was, the geeks/hipsters would probably to raging now thinking, "NO, SHE IS SO NOT A GEEK/HIPSTER". If there is any form of that running in my blood, it would only be like 20% of who I am.

I am essentially a mixture of a lot of things. I understand how complicated I am as a human being. Never had anyone been fully capable of identifying me with a particular label or group, that includes myself. But I still want to have glasses as "my thing". So people would look at me and go, "Oh that girl with the glasses?" Glasses are probably the first thing I fully embraced myself with, because TV and movies only really came when puberty came. And I don't watch enough things to solemnly swear that I have an extensive knowledge of all movies or TV shows of all genres.

I am not Albert Einstein-smart or Sherlock Holmes-observant or Tina Fey-funny. I know I can't write like Ernest Hemingway or bake like Martha Stewart or sing like Adele. But I can be me and I can stick to being "the girl with the spectacles" who cooped her life up on her laptop, taking life one day at a time, all this while trying to figure out how to pursue what she wants in life.

So that's me. I am the girl with the spectacles.
