I don't actually drink coffee
Believe it or not, I don't drink coffee. Not even when it is overseas and I have those free coffee packs lying about the cup corners. I usually just take the home and give them to my godmum who is a coffee drinker.Don't get me wrong, I love the smell of coffee, it's heavenly. And I do love some Sara Lee Coffee pound cake. But I just don't like the TASTE of coffee. It is bitter and I can literally feel the caffeine taking over me. I just really don't appreciate its presence in my digestive system. Nevertheless, I went for the Starbucks' 1-for-1 Xmas drink on the Twelve day of December because I am just the most cheapskate person you can come across in your life. I wouldn't even pay full price for food now. It's a sickness, I know. Anyway, I went to Coronation Plaza that day after the last day of school (Cause, you know, I am having my break now) and got myself my first ever Starbucks. But before I get to that, I ought to share my horrid experience. Okay, so I was walking toward the Starbucks outlet, and this massive group of lower secondary Hwa Chong boys was behind me. I knew, obviously, they were heading to get the same thing as I am, cause it just doesn't make sense for 14 year old boys to go to NTUC in a group. Anyway, so as I was nearing the outlet, the massive herd broke into two parts, one was the chiongers, the other was the whiners. Not weeners, whiners. In an unnaturally auntie manner, the chiongers ran past me to storm into Starbucks only to end up in the queue anyway cause there is another three more people getting their boost of caffeine. The whiners eventually settled behind me and throughout the entire ten minutes of waiting and service, the shortest boy complained non-stop about EVERYTHING in Starbucks. He began with the queue, then the speed of the service, then the price, then the lack of flavours for the promotion that rooted from the price, then the lack of cake selection in the shelves, then the price of the cheesecake in Starbucks, then the price of every cheesecake in the world, then back to the service, then after he has been served he continue the speed of production, then about some gaming thing that his friends are into, then the production speed again, then about another friend who did not hear his plea for straws. Seriously, he just wouldn't stop. And he kept complaining like that because HE NEVER EVEN BEEN TO STARBUCKS BEFORE. He kept going like the world was in debt to him and his continuous need for attention. I was baffled at how absolutely whiny he was and how much more of a cheapskate he was than me. But it wasn't just him that ruined my experience. His friends kept hogging spaces despite being fully aware that the outlet in Coronation Plaza isn't all that spacious. I could hardly move and had to yell at them to scoot over just so I can get out of there. Teens these days are FUCKING selfish, aren't they? So that was my rant, back to my first ever coffee drink. I ordered a Cranberry White Chocolate Frappuccino DECAF, because you know why. It is really sweet, almost too sweet and I would really discard it if it wasn't that the sweetness overpowered the hint of caffeine and also because it cause four bucks after calculation. I was disappointed cause I could hardly taste the white chocolate and I love white chocolate. So yeah, I was pretty upset over that. I still stand by the fact that Starbucks is overpriced. But I actually am less opposed to it after Keh Jun became their barista, cause he educated me about coffee knowledge and I like having such useless informations lingering about my brains. I mean, who knows, I can strike up a conversation with some big shot next time I go to a coffee shop. But we all know life could be so kind.
